Design, concept, fabrication and production. A love for the beauty of natural wood, led to the design and creation of these exquisite live edge table tops & steel bases. Offered in Claro Walnut and English Elm, which are both dense grain woods that originate in California. The production of these tables is a labor of local love. The wood is hand selected from a mill in northern California where it is sliced and kiln-dried and trucked to a workshop in Sausalito, CA, where hours of finishing, de-barking and honing was required. The steel bases are sourced from a fleet of retired barges which brought aggregate to the bay area in the 1990’s. The 3/8” thick steel barge plate was water cut to shape and formed on an industrial brake press to give them their final angle. Each piece of steel is hand waxed with black oxide applied underneath to accentuate its character and protect it from elements.
